Missoni Takes Over Target: Photos, Updates + Savings Tips

September 13th, 2011 by targetsavers

Like many frugal fashionistas, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the launch of Target’s Missoni line on September 13th since it was announced last summer. While I was hoping to get in on some of the Italian designer’s chevron-striped deals online at Target.com, their newly-launched site couldn’t handle the sales volume and has been producing “server error” messages all morning.  Savings Tip:  If you do get through at Target.com, the is the best way to save is to go through Shop at Home since they are offering an additional 10% cash back when you shop through their links.

However, I would advise checking out your store early today. My Target store in mid-Minnesota surprisingly had an ample supply of Missoni merchandise, even though we hardly live in a fashion mecca.   There was nobody waiting in line at 8:00 a.m. to get in (unless you count me) and the people shopping just breezed right on past the racks.  I took lots of photos of the goodies as you can see below. If you see anything you want, buy it right away. You can always return it later, but if you go back to get it it will most likely be sold out. A lot of people are buying Missoni goods at Target then re-selling on eBay.

Did you get anything Missoni at Target today?  What were your favorite pieces?  I thought the lingerie was beautiful and the little girls’ clothing adorable, but I opted to get something a little bit more practical just for myself– the ballet flats.  And the infinity scarf.  And the shawl….

The display was stripped bare in five minutes in the ‘burbs of Mpls. People waiting at the door at 6a.m. to get in!

Wow! Certainly not in Mankato. Like I said, we’re not really a fashion mecca. ;)

I’m going later to Target tonight. I’ll take a look if they have any but doesn’t look too apealing. Sorry, just my opinion.

No need to apologize! It’s not for everyone. Very stripe-y. Is that a word?! :)

Target in Augusta, Ga was CRAZY! People snatching off the shelves… 10am and things were already sold out… Not for me… Too trendy :-S

I want to grab that blue, white, and black tie for my husband. It used to be stripes, then it was paisley print. Now I guess it’s these zigzags. I like it!
