Is anyone else eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Neiman Marcus at Target collection? It heads into stores and online December 1st, but you can preview some of the over 50 gifts online right now. Prices seem to be a bit higher than normal Target prices, but very reasonable for the designers. Where else can you get a Marchesa dress for $79.99 or a Marc Jacobs bag for $69.99?

Target Black Friday and Gray Thursday Craziness: Reports from the Trenches

Were you one of the crazy ones camped out at Target before Black Friday? Their doors opened at 9:00 last night, helping to coin the new term “Gray Thursday”. My family and I braved the crowds to get a few of the DVDs on our wish list, mostly at my daughter’s urging. She likes the sport and excitement of Black Friday shopping. The rest of us went along for the ride and to witness the craziness.

When we arrived, the line to get in the Target store wrapped all the way around the mall. It was a chilly night, and I wasn’t looking foward to waiting in line. Luckily, it moved pretty fast. We were in the doors within 10 minutes. While waiting, we heard a security guard say that the first people started lining up at 2:00 p.m.

Once inside, we went straight for the DVDs. Besides the larger doorbuster electronic items, the DVD/Blu-ray racks seemed to be the most popular. We got The Big Bang Theory DVDs for $13, and my daughter got some others for $4 and $6 each. She also picked up a top for $10 (reg. $19.99)

Summer may be drawing to a close, but these swimming toys will still be fun next year. Buy ahead and save! Most everything I saw on the Target Clearance endcap was 50% off the original retail price. Some things were marked 30% off, but I suspect they would ring up at 50% off as well. In the next two weeks, watch for these clearance prices to drop to 70% off.

If you’ve been in the market for a Kindle e-reader keep your eyes peeled for three different models on clearance at Target. I spotted the Kindle Fire, Kindle Touch and Kindle on clearance at my Target store at 15% off retail. It’s possible that there still may be one or two floating around when they hit 30% off in a week or so, but they just may sell out quickly. Let us know if you find one!
